The worst.. My family and I stayed here for Christmas. We checked into a dirty room and had to ask twice that it be cleaned. The man who came to do so was talking on his cellphone for 20 minutes and we opted to go to dinner to get some privacy. When we returned we found that he had made the beds but not cleaned the room. There were dirty, used towels in the bathroom, overflowing wastebaskets, 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and 2 towels for 4 people. We were exhausted after traveling all day and decided to address it the next morning. BIG MISTAKE - THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS. We went out looking for toilet paper and soap but the local CVS was closed and we had to call the emergency phone number; the woman who answered did not offer an apology but she did send the same man back with one roll of toilet paper. We had to ask him to empty the trash and clean up the previous guests dirty towels. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME WE SAW AN EMPLOYEE FOR THE REST OF OUR 4 DAY STAY.

The suite is advertised as having two queen beds and a twin. One queen and the twin were mattresses on the floor. The other queen was a thin wire coil mattress over a plywood slab - horribly uncomfortable.

The linens are threadbare and there are no mattress pads. There was a coffee maker but no coffee after the first morning. The sugar packets were from Dunkin' Donuts. YUCK Forget the sundeck, it is one hammock that you can't get to because of "stuff" piled on the deck. There is no complimentary breakfast or evening cocktails as advertised. There is no parking and the closest lot charged us $20/day.

Get a ringside seat (or room) to the year-round circus on Duval Street.. The Scene
You can't get much closer to all the Key West action than this 1876-vintage inn at the foot of Duval Street. Mallory Square, Sloppy Joe's, Fort Zachary Taylor State Beach and, of course, all the shops and restaurants on Duval are but the proverbial stone's throw away.

The Details
The Romanesque Revival building has all of six rooms; both studios and suites boast hardwood floors and cheerful tropical decor. Some have kitchenettes. To get you out of your room, the inn offers complimentary outdoor continental breakfast, evening happy hour and an upstairs sundeck complete with tropical plants and hammock. There's also a tiki bar and outdoor cafe that serves lunch and dinner--they even do room service.

It's been awhile since. I've stayed here but I enjoyed it so much I wanted to post about it. This is centrally located on Duval St. If you want a quiet place don't stay here, but if you want to be near the action this is the best place. There is a courtyard that serves food and a bar downstairs that you can walk up and get a drink. The suite I stayed in was the Key West suite overlooking Duval. Great, spacious room. The service was amazing from the owners to the house keeper. We actually saw the owners out a few times during our stay and had a great time getting to know them. What a great place with a great location. Great value!!!
