Shorty's MarketI actually applied for a job at this place until I found out what a total idiot the owner, Annie truly was. I called her to inquire about the opening 2 weeks after applying. She asked me what my qualifications were. I replied that I had an Associates degree in Business and had worked at a huge supermarket in Scottsdale, AZ. She replied "so what". Obviously this MORON would rather hire people with no experience to work for her so she can intimidate them. Stay away from this place, I sure will from now on and I'm telling everyone I know to do the same.
horrible horrible experience.
This is simple the worst market to work or experience new skills.I worked there for more than 4 month and and it was my worst experience ever.Annie the owner and eziek the jewish boss treat her employees like a little pig and treat to fire them until people quit. Please wat student beware of this business and never ever work there.Worst worst market ever.

the owner Annie is a Butthead treats her employees with no respect!!!. She has never had to fire anyone......... she treats her employees likecrap till they Quit!!! Ive heard The Pig who works for her "Tia" Has Aids and wont admit it. But she will make you a sandwich with out gloves. My advice STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take cash....LOTS!.
Nice space, excellent inventory, and Duval location makes it conventient to shopping, bars and many hotels or B&Bs
HOWEVER, prices are marked up at least 50% over usual grocery store prices, and they take cash only. Didn't seem to have a customer service attitude either, but rather a smirk and knowing smile that said, "what choice do you have?" I walked to a restaurant within the block and bought a bottle of water for 1/2 what they were charging. (Plus, they gave no discount for quantity purchases.)
Great Sandwiches. My husband craves their Ruben's! The market employs some very hard working immigrants who understand what customer service is. They have a fantastic verticle vintage sign out front sporting "Shorty's".
