This elegant inn is as close as most of us will come to staying in a more than 100-year-old mansion.. The Past
Curry Mansion was built over four decades by William Curry, a poor Bahamian immigrant turned salvager who was reputedly Key West's first millionaire. It was finished in 1899 by Curry's son, Milton, who furnished it with the antiques and Victorian finery that grace it to this day. An amalgam of various architectural styles, it's an imposing, antebellum presence on Key West's "Mansion Row." Inside is equally impressive, with parquet floors, extensive stained and etched glass, pricey Oriental carpets and intricate, elaborate woodworking details.

The Present
The 28-room inn is built around the mansion and features everything from modest bedrooms to elegant suites. A small swimming pool and hot tub sit in a central courtyard and are open 24 hours a day. Parking, continental breakfast, nightly cocktail parties and access to the mansion are included in room rates.
