Valhalla Point
A simple, secluded and old-fashioned Keys getaway..
The Scene
This family-owned and operated hotel is located across from the Curry Hammock State Park directly on a small swimming beach. It is a comfortable and affordable alternative to camping out. The architecture and decor are simple, old-Keys style. Travelers seeking remote, relaxed accommodations will feel right at home here.
The Details
Of the hotel's original eight rooms, three were destroyed by a tornado. All of the remaining five face the ocean. Three of the these five are efficiencies with kitchenettes. The suite has a living room and full kitchen. Keep in mind that the usual amenities associated with a resort--swimming pool, spa, tennis--are absent. But guests have complimentary use of canoes. There's also a dock behind the hotel, and you can rent boats. The owners are happy to arrange snorkeling tours by catamaran. There is no restaurant on-site, but the town of Marathon is about two miles away.
