Great Breakfast – We ate here for and early breakfast. There were locals as well as tourist. We have fast friendly service and the food was yummy !
Forget logic in the seating policy and expect unorganized logistics – We wanted to have breakfast at the Flamingo yesterday and called ahead to hear that the wait was not too long. We could not get on the waiting list unless we showed up and reservations are out of the question. When we got there (party of 4) , there were two tables available - one for 6 persons and one for four persons as well as 2 seats at the bar. We were hoping to get the table for four as nobody was in front of us, but nothing was moving. Two other guests walked in after us and were asked to sit at the bar. Then they called out a (2 person) party that was apparently waiting outside (note - after seating people that came after us). These 2 people were seated at the 4 person table. We asked to be seated at the 6 person table and told that this is the only large table and would only be awarded to a 5 or 6 person party. Shortly after that a party of 6 came in and was promptly seated at the 6 person table. This was too ridiculous, we received no apology and left the place. If someone does not have fair seating policies under control, they don't deserve us patronizing the establishment and a negative review as I promised them.
Quiet breakfast and lunch cafe offers mellow respite from the jangle of Duval Street. – The Scene
Outside, the street is crowded with tourists and T-shirt shops, but the vibe inside this cozy hangout is decidedly local and laid-back. Soothing coral walls, quirky tablecloths, and a relaxed jazz soundtrack give the place a sunny, blissed-out atmosphere, attracting a friendly mix of locals and tourists.
The casual, vegetarian-friendly menu offers light American breakfast and lunch fare at prices that seem positively bargain-basement compared to nearby restaurants (only $7.95 for a chicken caesar? Woo hoo!). Egg dishes star on the all-day breakfast menu; try one of the fluffy, filling omelets served with home fries or grits. For lunch, choose from a good, basic selection of salads and sandwiches, including a Philly cheesesteak, half-pound burger, and a scrumptious blackened chicken sub on a homemade roll. Vegetarians will be all over the ultimate veggie sub, loaded with tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, cucumber, avocado, and provolone and topped with balsamic vinaigrette.
