flea markets. I visit the Big Pine Flea Market every weekend i can.

It is the busiest outdoor shopping center in the Keys.

Not only do I get great deals on many items, i have made many new friends and see my neighbors there.

I have enjoyed many lunches with them. This week we had an extra treat of seeing 2 key deer walk down the road near us while we ate our breakfast.

I recomend that everyone driving thru the keys, take time on the weekend to enjoy this friendy market and

take advantage of the treasures you might find.

The best place to shop in the Keys!. A fun place to hang out under the chikee, while your friends and kids go shop from a wide variety little stores under tarp. It is an island flea market with an interesting history, interesting people from all over the world, and a weekend tradition for 28 years at this location.

Used to be good, now a filthy dump. Honestly, I used to love this place... bargains, friendly stallholders, great and cheap food. But how quickly things can go downhill.

Went back on Saturday morning, sat down to eat breakfast in the central tables and stood on a dog sh*t. Yes, dog poopy, right in the middle of the market, where dogs are - if you read the signs - not allowed. We saw three dogs walking around - note to market owners: a dachsund in a tutu is NOT a service dog.

The food was dire, the breakfast sausagemeat muffin thing tasted of rubber; most of the stalls now hawk overpriced plastic crap, and the whole market is just dirty and unkempt. Second note to owner: wouldn't harm ya to spend some money sprucing up the place a little.

The piece de resistance? Some self-important fat jerk in a baseball cap kept bumping us with his motorized cart.

I won't be back. Used to be a good way to pass a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Now I'd rather just pass straight by. Or pass a kidney stone. It'd be less painful, I swear.
