Tip scam got caught. I?m writing this little review, so no one has to go through the terrible experience I went through. I can?t remember exactly why or when we started this tradition, but our family has been going to Key West for family vacation. This year was bit more special because my new born niece was with us. We went out to celebrate and picked the restaurant called ?Red Fish Blue Fish? We (4 adult and 1 one year old baby) decided to order to share among us. When the bill arrived there was 18% gratuity charge. My sister walked over to the waitress (Michelle) and asked about 18% gratuity charge. When on the menu it clearly stated gratuity is only charged when parties have 6 or more people. When my sister asked the reason why we were charged 18% gratuity the waitress(Michelle) told her the restaurant is slow and she have to pay her bills. We asked to speak to the manager, when the self claimed manager (Etren Quiche) came, we explained what has happened. While we were talking to the manager the waitress got hysterical and started to yell at us saying when the total bill is over 75 dollars she can charge any percentage of gratuity she wants. While the waitress was screaming the manager just stood there and did nothing. It was hard to believe that he was the real manager. Was the waitress scamming tip from the customers to pay her bill? I can?t imagine how many people the waitress has been scamming and while this was going on where was the owner of the restaurant? I?m going to pursuit this scamming and report to the ?Better small business bureau?
