Uncontrolled screaming kids in the halls

by NelGood

I've stayed here previously and enjoyed it but this time the kids were allowed to run up and down the halls screaming at all hours of the night.

We are not some old fuddy-duddies but sometime after midnight (after our second call to the front desk) they were literally yelling at the top of their lungs (multiple) in the halls Seriously?

The front desk seemed unconcerned.

Sorry Grand Key Resort - you get an "F" on this one.

Great Resort !

I would highliy recommend this great hotel! My family stayed there for about a week. They have a great pool area, the food is really good. They provide complementary shuttle service to different areas of the island. Their first stop is in the old historic part of the island, where there are a tons of places to eat along the shore. The second stop is on Duvall Street Square, where there is lots and lots of shopping. You should try Red Fish Blue Fish Restaurant, and for sure to try Pepis ...I think it is called, the best food and it has been there for years.

The Double Tree on key west is by far the best Double tree that I have stayed in. The staff at the front were very friendly and one of the managers named Kevin who is there in the evening, was especially very helpful. We even decided to stay two more days! The shuttle also stops at the beach, where there are towels provided and lawn chairs and umbrellas to sit under. The hotel also has a room with two computers in it, so that you can get on the internet for no extra charge. There is complementary shuttle service to and from the airport, so really you do not even need to rent a car. The parking in the historic area and most of the places you will want to visit is about $15-$20 each time.

If I go back to Key West I will for sure be staying at the resort for sure.

  • Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Cookies, Good location
  • Cons: $10 for parking each day

In Short
Warm chocolate chip cookies greet every guest at this Hilton-owned hotel, a friendly touch that fits in with the hotel's business-casual attitude. Another way Doubletree helps its guests relax is the Sweet Dreams bed, which features a pillow-top mattress, high thread-count linens, down comforters and lots of jumbo pillows. Amenities also include high-speed Internet access, in-room coffeemaker and complimentary newspaper; properties also typically feature a swimming pool, a fitness center and a range of meeting facilities.
