beautiful rooms, water front location
by luvs2travel
We stayed here and absolutely loved it. The staff could not have been nicer to us. The location is perfect. It's right there, yet not right there so it's nice and quiet. We stayed over by the spa which was great. We had an incredible room that overlooked a secluded patio that had a tiny path leading to the workout room. Our patio was great because I could read out there in the mornings and my husband could get good cell reception and check in on work before we went out to play for the day. We loved having the workout room right there, it made staying in shape effortless. The pool and beach area are really nice because they make you feel like your off the beaten path when all you have to do is go outside the hotel to find all the action. We loved our stay.
- Pros: ocean front, secluded, quiet, adorable rooms, decent workout center
Best view of the sunset. Food is great also.
by luvs2travel
We were all set to view the sunset from the viewing deck of the Pier House and have dinner downstairs at One Duval. Instead my husband decided to see if we could escape the masses and asked the hostess if we could view the sunset from the restaurant before our reservation. She did even better and put us at a table with the best view of the sunset for our dinner. It was extremely romantic and beautiful. Our food was really delicious and continued our streak of finding great restaurants in the Keys & One Duval did not disappoint us.
- Pros: sunset views, open to the water, good food, good service
Kick back and lose yourself in luxury's lap at the end of the bottom of the United States.

The Scene
Key West's original luxury resort, this property was built in the 1960s on the site once home to the Porter Steamship office. Resort developer David Wolkowsky had the office lifted off its foundation and moved to pilings in the water. Since then, it's been added to and renovated several times--to the point where it's almost unnecessary to leave the lushly planted and manicured grounds. There's a private white-sand beach, swimming pool, spa, nightly entertainment, several bars and cafes, and an impressive, contemporary fine-dining restaurant with spectacular water views.
The Details
Great views are as common as grains of sand on the hotel beach. Many rooms face either the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico, some overlook tropical gardens and others boast hardwood floors and whirlpool bathtubs. And since it is in Key West, if you simply must leave, Mallory Square and Duval Street are only steps away.
Great Potential, falls flat

The setting is really great with a nice reception area, towel and robe service, and amenities. But The price is WAY too high. The facial was a glorified moisturizing process (and the therapist talked WAY too much), and the massage was average. The male hairstylist has a nice personality, but he doesn't pay any attention to what you need. Considering the cost, it was extremely disappointing.
- Pros: Nice set-up, nice staff
- Cons: The price exceeded its value
LOVE THE PIER HOUSE

CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE BARS ON DUVAL STREET, AND YET JUST FAR ENOUGH AWAY TO BE QUIET LATE AT NIGHT. WE WILL ALWAYS STAY AT THE PIER HOUSE ON EVERY TRIP TO KEY WEST
